Media and Corporate Responsibility 2018

The firm encourages our people to take part in diverse community-based initiatives.  Here are some of our highlights for 2018.

Our very own, Rosa Carlino, associate lawyer, was sworn in as the 2018 Chair of the Board for the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce February 5, 2018 at the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting. Swearing in Rosa is her mentor, Doug Shanks. We are very proud of her and excited to see her in this role. Congratulations Rosa!  Rosa also won a Shift Nova Award in 2018 in the leadership category.

Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

Cheadles is firmly committed to the principles of corporate social responsibility, including:
•    Highly ethical and professional standards
•    Providing an inclusive work environment
•    Environmental sustainability
•    Community involvement

The firm encourages our people to take part in diverse community-based initiatives.  For the past two years, our lawyers participated in the Harbour Youth Services Amazing Raising Cash for Kids Race, which is a not for profit fundraiser for child literacy.  Our team raised the most money and also won the race.

Rosa Carlino, an associate lawyer at Cheadles LLP, has joined the Camp Quality Northwestern Ontario Camp Organizing Committee as Fund Development Coordinator. This position allows Rosa to assist with the organization and development of all fundraising events in support of Camp Quality in Thunder Bay. Camp Quality is a volunteer, non-profit, charitable organization that strives to improve the quality of life for children living with cancer through camps and year-round family support programs. If you are interesting in donating, fundraising, or volunteering with Camp Quality Northwestern Ontario, please contact Rosa at campquality@tbaytel.net.

Cheadles also sponsors a soccer team in the Thunder Bay Women’s Soccer Club.  The aim of the Club is fun, fitness and friendship.  They strive to represent these qualities on their team each indoor and outdoor season.  The team has women of all ages and skill levels, and enjoys the opportunity to learn from one another throughout the soccer seasons.  The team captains and coaches comment that without sponsorship, they would be unable to have this great group of ladies playing soccer together.  They look forward to many more seasons ahead.  Rosa Carlino and Kaija Riabov both work at Cheadles and play on our soccer team.

Corporate social responsibility is all about commitment to our clients, community, and our employees.
