Megan Wood joined Cheadles LLP as a placement student in January 2021. She is currently in her third year of law school at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. She was heavily involved in her school community, serving as a Dean’s Fellow in four courses and competing in the Ontario Trial Lawyer Association’s 2020 Moot.
Megan holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Lakehead University with a minor in both Psychology and English.
Megan chose to pursue the legal profession because of her passion for advocacy and inclusion, especially for individuals with disabilities and seniors. She understands the importance of practical legal advice. She has particular interests in the areas of family law, labour and employment law, wills and estates law, and civil litigation.
In her free time, Megan enjoys being out in nature, painting, and spending time with family, friends and her dogs. She is a board member of Murillo Mutts Respite Refuge, which strives to keep families and individuals with their pets by providing care when needed.
Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Megan is thrilled to have the opportunity to work and learn from the experienced lawyers and staff at Cheadles LLP. She looks forward to becoming a lawyer and serving her community.
